Snowy Owl Banking by gregster09 Snowy Owl Banking by gregster09
PRINTS available here: [link]

Sorry for my long absence - things have been busy and I hope to share a lot more soon!

This snowy owl has taken up residence not too far from where I live, and I have devoted a lot of time to capturing this stunning bird.

Snowy Owl Banking by *gregster09 One of the most impressive Owl shots I have ever seen, the eyes in this really just are amazing, contrasting wonderfully with the overall look and feel of the photo. Incredible focus...it simply leaves me breathless. ( Featured by kkart )

Would you mind if I used this photo as a reference in a drawing of mine? I wouldn't be selling it or anything like that, and would definitely give you credit if you do let me :) If not, that's fine too, wonderful shot :D

Incredible shot! Looks like an immature one since theres so many black tips. If it sticks around you'll be seeing those become less and less bit by bit.

Lovely <3

Hi, Absolutely stunning photograph, definately a winner in any competition its entered into.
I dont want to be critical in any way of this shot, but the only flaw I see, and believe you me its not your fault but the birds :-) is the out of place black spot on the upper wings leading edge, just causes a slight distraction when viewing the complete photo.
On another note, the camera data on the side info bar doesnt list the lens used, what type of lens did you have on?

I am going to say he used the Canon 800mm :) [link]

:iconabz1:

Thats why I'm asking - I could assume too :-)

Was it a -
Sigma 800mm f5.6 APO EX DG HSM Lens
Sigma 300-800mm f5.6 EX DG APO HSM Lens
Canon EF 800mm f5.6 L IS USM Lens
or another type

All the info states is the focal length used to take the picture not the make/model of the lens. The lens is just as important if not more so than the camera for the perfect picture and I just like to know ;-)

I do believe Greg uses all Canon equipment. You can read my interview with him here: "APN Professional Interview w/ Greg Schneider!" Just my guess, but I may be wrong...

Fantastic interview - Thanks.
Going by that the 800mm must have been a recent purchase :-)
